In intermediates players learn new skills and perfect skills they have already learnt.

For older or more experienced players. These players compete in the senior division. This includes current and ex Australian players.

How we train

Player Progression

Overall, the progression from beginner to advanced roller hockey skills involves a combination of improving skating ability, stick handling proficiency, shooting accuracy and power, defensive techniques, and overall game understanding and strategy. Players at each level build upon the foundational skills while adding new elements to their game to become more proficient and versatile on the rink.

Our team of experienced coaches and trainers are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. They love giving back to the sport through our group training sessions with individualised attention throughout as required to help you improve your skills whilst having fun.

  • Stick Handling: Introduction to basic stick handling skills such as dribbling and passing.
  • Shooting: Basic shooting techniques, focusing on accuracy and control rather than power.
  • Positioning: Basic understanding of rink positioning and game strategies.
  • Teamwork: Learning to work with teammates, understanding basic game tactics, and developing communication skills on the rink.
  • Goalkeeping: Many of our players have tried their hand at playing as goalkeeper over the years, why don't you give it a go in the cage?  We have all the gear to kit you out.

  • Advanced Skating: Improving speed, agility, and balance on skates, including backward skating and quick direction changes.
  • Stick Handling: Enhancing stick handling skills with more complex maneuvers, strokes, and fakes.
  • Shooting: Developing more powerful and accurate shots, including wrist shots, dribble shots, and slap shots.
  • Defensive Techniques: Learning defensive positioning, stick checking, and body positioning to intercept passes and block shots.
  • Offensive Tactics: Understanding advanced offensive strategies, such as creating scoring opportunities, and executing effective plays using set structures.
  • Goalkeeping: We have some of the best keepers in the country as a result of which we keep developing the best keepers in the country.

  • Elite Skating: Mastery of advanced skating techniques, including crossovers, tight turns, and explosive acceleration.
  • Stick Handling Mastery: Exceptional ball control under pressure, including advanced ball drags, and ball protection techniques.
  • Precision Shooting: Consistently accurate and powerful shots with various release points and shot types.
  • Defensive Mastery: Expert defensive skills, including anticipation, reading the play, and shutting down opponents effectively.
  • Tactical Awareness: High-level understanding of game tactics, including situational awareness, reading plays, and executing complex team strategies.
